I bought this today, This was the first ever plastic model I was bought, when I was about 10 or 11. Thinking about building this a different way though. I'm going to put some radio gear into it, not to fly it, but to sail it. I have some of small motors from those small cheep radio control helicopters. I'm going to use them for the propellers. The problem I think I'll have is steering. I don't want to use a rudder, as the real thing didn't have one. I want to try and just use the props for steering. Any ideas?

That was a model I always lusted after, but never actually built, so I'm jealous !!
You shouldn't have too much trouble steering with the props. Just rig up the left and right props with separate speed controllers, and you'll get differential steering. (I.e. Open up the left pair and throttle down the right pair to turn right). You could even add a V-tail mixer so that you have a throttle and steering control, and the mixer interprets this and controls the motors accordingly. Markus is probably the best person to give you specific advice.

PS. I've moved this to the Build diaries of other models as the Model Showcase is intended for finished models.

Thanks for moving Mark. Sorry about that.
Regarding the props, thats what I was thinking. I only need 2 channel radio, just need to strip a handset and turn the left/right lever to make forward/reverse, Job done.
