Could you touch it in with a fine brush by hand ? Might not be too hard if there is a bit of a lip where the masking tape was. Personally, I think I'd either try that, or gently scrape it off with a new No 10 scalpel blade (curved blade).

now i'm not sure what to do - repainting with better masking tape or removing excess paint with very fine emery paper ?? hull will be coated with clear paint later so fine sanding won't damage the finish (hopefully) suggestions are welcome.... Markus This might work Mask off the black area again, or the area you don't want to remove paint from. Find a local car painting shop or motor store and buy a couple of small tins of cutting compound. Vary the grit size for each tin. With the area you want to stay protected by a covering of tape, try using a dry cloth and begin rubbing the unwanted area with the compound until the black is removed. Coarse grit first, then a finer grit to get the grey to blend Hope I've made myself clear enough that you can follow what I'm getting at. Baz

Just as a matter of interest Markus, did you spray paint, or brush paint the hull?

Little late to ask now, but what kind of masking tape to you use. I used and have read that Tamiya is the best, if you can get it the 10mm roll, but I've used 6mm, with no real bleeding. Strange it would bleed up like that. The other solution is sand back down to your primer coat, we still have prop shaft mounts to go on and quite some time to go, so it may be a case of back to the drawing board. You'll sort it mate
