i would glue part x in the base under the turret. we might seal the turrets with an oring (diameter approx. 50mm) between turret and its base. mounting part x inside the 50mm ring will hopefully be possible

My first thought was this. Have the part"x" glued to the decking and the turret would turn left or right and the barrel would rise and fall accordingly. My only concern would be would the turret base be strong enough cutting out that much to allow the part "x" to travel through it. Any thoughts?

My current thoughts are to place a part X well under the turning part of the turret, with a rod having a T type top to lift both barrels running down through a hole in the removable part of the turret, (as the turret rotates, the push rod will rise and fall) this removes the need to cut out a semicircle in the base. My mini servo may need to be set off centre with a gear system, as my servo has a max rotation of 45 degrees either side as is. Need for a 2 to 1 gear or similar. Also thinking of fastening the turret in place using mini magnets (as per Maplin catalogue) for ease of removal for servicing etc. kind of stuck for the present until we get the Hachette parts for the turrets, at what issue??
