right i'll try again goto buildthevictory.com for proof it's being done by del prado. don't know how many iss? once again its 49 inches long, 33" high & 17 beam. you can cut part of the decking out to show guns and gun crew. you also get deck crew including nelson. 1st iss u get cannnon 1st part of keel and 2 frames, 2nd anchor & more frames. the keel & frames are numbered which helps, also the frames are that big u have to put side pieces on!!!

I've just seen this item, but its not from Del Prado but from Deagostini as its on their web site.
Anyone know how/when the camo paint job will be tackled on the superstructure of our Bissy as it looks a daunting task with all that detail in place?

try this link everyone. hmsvictory.deagostini.co.uk/I am sure that del prado did this one ages ago. As I am sure I have a few of the issues somewhere if anyone wants them.

Yeah, Del Prado did do it a few years ago. I didn't build it, but I gather it wasn't the best quality partwork. I would guess this is another test.

It wasn't -although it was one of my first models I tried. SO if anyone wants it the bits are there to a good home.

It looks like its the Artesania Latina kit to me as its exactly the same scale, and even looks the same with the exception of not having crew figures.

Surely all scale models of the Victory (if they are the same scale) should look the same !!

Given the age of the Victory and the number of times it has been rebuilt over that last 2 centuries (the Victory museum at Portsmouth and other purveyors of nautical nicknacks already seem to sell enough "genuine" tables and other items built from Victory's timbers to rebuild the hull several times over), it probably changed its appearance somewhat over the years.

Surely all scale models of the Victory (if they are the same scale) should look the same !! Not if it the model is not accurate

Well I think in this case you have to say 'no more' and hope the next model hits the nail on the head with accuracy.
Failing that you can get handy with mods etc and vacumm up all the bits you have taken off.

The HMS Victory is on my todo list, but was planning on doing the Jotika / Caldercraft version in 1/72 scale. But 1st I want to do the HM Granado followed by the HMS Fly, then the HMS Victory and the HMS Vanguard. The HM Granado is the next level up in difficulty after the Amati Bluenose, with the HMS Fly the next level up after that. Other thing is, I don't think I even could manage the HMS Victory just yet, looks good though, but I very much doubt it would be a beginners build.
