Nice, Markus.
Did you make them all yourself?!
nm
PS They take ages to load - would splitting them make them more manageable? I read about that show but couldn't get to it even if I wanted to. Seems to have been worthwhile.

Thanks for the pictures Markus, they are awesome! Always amazes me how many talented people there are about, and their lateral thinking, makes me feel small!

Ah, Dortmund... Went there with my flying club the past three years, sadly noone wanted to go this year since many model stores had already said they didn't want to come anymore... Bargains are also really hard to get there since online stores usually have lower prices.

Thank you for sharing, Markus. I was about to visit our Paris Model Fair when I was told it was cancelled this year. Your piccies were of a good remedy to cure my passing frustration. And what a Bissie, btw! All scratch?

Looks like I keep hitting the wrong reply button and getting the wrong thread. In reply to Skyfire's question, I thought it was the Scharnhorst, but looking at the mast placement, I'd say its the Gneisenau. (Google told me the difference between the two.)
Nice model whoever made it. The omaha beach scene is pretty nice. Big scale.

Nice looking ship and would make an interesting build in 1/200 scale. So comeon Hatchette, HMS Hood, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau all in 1/200 scale with r/c. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for sharing the pics with us Markus. That looks like quite an exhibition. Wheres Dortmund. Dortmund is located in the Ruhr district in Germany, an industrial area mostly famous for their steel production. Almost in the middle of the western part of Germany The four large cities of Dortmund, Essen, Düsseldorf, and Duisburg are practically one huge city these days (with a lot of smaller towns in between also "swallowed"). The famous Krupp, located in Essen (around 20km to the west of Dortmund), made panzer-steel during WWII, and I think also manufactured the big guns for the Bismarck (Markus, please correct me if I am wrong here).

Actually Rod, I think your first guess is correct. It should be the Scharnhorst. The give away is the shield on the bow. The Gneisenoua had flowery type emblem, the Scharnhorst had the diagonal stripe Baz

Baz it's 8.7°C feels like 4.6°C as I type this out, blowing a gale and raining off and on. ;D My grandad was on 1 of the ships shelling the beaches on D-Day.
