Got a scare: read 9ft 16in beam as meaning the model was nine and a half feet wide.

That is absolutely awesome work Popeye. I think it's the first time I've seen a model steam plant complete with condensers. (For those who don't know, Rather than let the used steam from the engines go up the chimney, you feed it into the condenser, which is cooled by 'seawater' which then condenses the steam back to water, so it an be put back in the boiler.)
