Hi all, Just a thought on JC Bissy. If all of us on the fourm offer a few pounds to buy JCs ship, and send it to Poul to build, then if Poul and every body agrees send it to a museum. Im sure we could get enough money and may be more to help JC and his family mike

Im sure we could get enough money and may be more to help JC and his family mike Hi Guys, All credits to your thoughts, but unfortunately I think we are heading down a blind avenue here. I hope I am not offending anybody for saying the following: 1. If JC's Bissy should go to a museum, it should (in my opinion) go to a museum in Ireland - and therefore (costwise) be built/finished by someone in UK. 2. Museums have certain criteria for accepting models, and I don't think they would accept any kits. No matter how nice a kit is built. 3. Unfortunately, I don't build models for museums. My offer to JC was simply: "If everything fails, don't send Bissy to ebay before we have had a talk". If possible, I would then try to finish the build in his spirit, using his diary in this forum. This offer still stands, but the conditions are: A. No one else has come up with an offer he can accept. B. I can afford to buy his Bissy at his reserve price (no haggling), plus transport to Australia

one thing i can assure all , is that i shall never leave this site, i am about 4 weeks away from finishing my nimitz and then try how to work out how to upload my video of her on the water., also the lanc will be ongoing for a long time , so you'll be stuck with me yet. i like some of your ideas about what to do with my bissy, in which regard , on my behalf i would drop the price if it meant it being kept in the community, i know it cost €1,600 to buy, including the r/c and motor, but im not expecting anything near that, so keep me informed of events and we'll see what happens. jc

Put me in for 10 quid if anyone wants to start a kitty. Might increase it if it gets off the ground.

So sad to hear Jc that you are unable to continue. Much as I would like to help SKY, sadly I am about to join the ranks of the unemployed next week if I don't find some new employment. I'm the last survivor of our old management team, and for a multitude of reasons, some beyond my control, I resigned 5 weeks ago effective 25 September So at the moment, every penny counts, even my Bissie partworks could be in jeopardy. I'll give up smoking and every other bad habit before I toss in buying the mags and building Bissie though......... I would love to see Poul take over the completion of Jc's model because I know he will do the model the justice it deserves. But I don't think I can help monetary wise at the moment. Baz

I think it would be nice for someone to finish it and then perhaps donate it to a museum or other similar place. Rod Hi Rod I think Poul is right, unless some small hometown museum is interested, all other museums are not an option. Good thought though Baz

Hey Baz,
sorry to hear about the job. That's going to be tough in this climate, but stay positive.
The mods you're making to the Bismarck, outstanding. I'm still considering where mine will take me.
How are your little boats going? Any progress yet?
cheers
Rod
