I found in my vast shed - a natural light lamp and magnifying glass combined. So I shall be using that.,

Ta for the advice. Leads me to another question. With all the potential brass etchings and the handling involved will all the brass get tarnished quickley so do we have to protect it from our hands, or does it not matter as it could be getting painted? Amati didn`t say anything concerning this "might-be-problem". I thought about it myself. ´till now nobody mentioned this question in our forum. Maybe I should raise this question there.

Hi Chris, please be patient regarding the deck fixtures. as Hachette will supply these when the time comes. for instance, issue 29 shows measurements for fastening down some of these. There is no need to fasten anything down yet, indeed it might make things more difficult if you do!! Not sure what you means about part 25 - which way up???

A bit of tarnish won't matter as the brass parts are painted. It is important that the parts are grease free before you paint them, so wipe them with a solvent just before painting. This will remove any grease. Let the solvent evaporate before painting of course. Ta for the advice. Leads me to another question. I purchased a light head magnifying Glass. It comes with a lamp and also has four lens in a box. 1.2X,1.8X,2.5X and 3,5X. The main advantage is I have both hands free for the work.
