Hi, The Partworks Bismarck is my first try at boat modelling and I am enjoying it so far. I am wondering however if there is a similar type of model for the Hood? Would be nice to have the same scale Hood (I know it will take ages to do the Bismark but I could do the Hood in my spare time ) I would need instructions though as I am far from being able to scratch model it!!

Just thought I would post this here as well.
As for the Hood I have actually emailed Hachette about this. Basically saying there is only a Card model at 1/200 and personally I don't yet have the skills to do this and had Hachette considered producing a Hood magazine, as I would think a good proportion of the Bismarck builders would buy it.
If you to want to send them an email to show there are more people interested in this then the email I used is: bismarck (at) jacklinservice (dot) com. I really do hope they bring out this model/magazine, would buy it in a second even though I am skint lol.

Couldn’t agree more. Would be great to have the two of them sitting side by side on my book case

Ok sorry to revive this thread but I finally got a reply from Hachette: Dear Ms Sheehan Subject: Build the Bismarck Publication, The Hood Enquiry Thank you for your correspondance, please accept our most sincere apologies for the delay in response. This is due to a failure in our server. We thank you for your feedback, at the moment there is no talk of the Hood being launched, however it may be brought out in the future. Unfortunately we do not have much more information in this regard, the best advice is to keep looking at our website for any new launches. www.hachettepartworks.co.uk Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards Customer Care So doesn't look good im afraid But a comment on the Courbet Cardmodel go me thinking. Is there a 1/200 card model of the Hood available anywhere? As you could use those plans to cut out the wooden frames etc needed for a 1/200 Hood. I have looked for a 1/200 cardboard model but no luck so far.

I seem to recall Deagostini having a 1/200 Hood partwork on the market not long after the Bismarck series got going in the UK, but it then vanished off the map so presume the series was either a test or did not have enough buyers, you never know with partworks it might re-apppear at some point in the future. It's mentioned on the Hood association web site, maybe enquire with Deag or have a drool at the Fleetscale Hood which is the benchmark for an RC Hood kit but its 1/128 so might be on the large side for you .
