This has probably been discussed elsewhere so apologies for asking again.
I’m building the static version and would hate some black plastic efforts (if indeed that is what’s supplied later) so can someone tell me what size of brass props to buy. I checked out the Sitec website but was unsure of dia, rotation etc.

I think you need 30mm diameter. Direction I think is Left, Left, Right for the props. The center one rotates the same direction as the left one.

I would expect Hachette to supply scale (nonworking) props as part of the series. The plastic props are part of the optional RC kit.
However, the props should be approx 23 or 24 mm diameter to be scale. Sitec does a set of 1/200 scale Bismarck props, somewhere on his site.

I was wiping drool off the keyboard as well They are indeed the muts nutz. What is the diameter of them (I assume that you did go for the 1:200 Bismarck set.) I shall be ordering a set, along with some A frames when I can find the dimensions.

Yes, they are Bismarck 1/200 scale.
Not sure of diameter, I'll measure them tomorrow. I will get A frames from him too, but like yourself, will wait 'till I have acurate measurments for that.
I am holding off bonding in my prop shafts as well, mainly 'cos I'm worried that I may stuff it up and put them in at the wrong angle, I am going to wait 'till I get the prop shaft housings before I committ myself. (So it'll be next year at best for that!!)

Hey eric,
When you say A Frames do you mean the parts holding the props to the hull? If so are you asking the Sitek guy to make them in brass for u or something? And when you say accurate measurements what do you mean?

An A frame ius the bearing that supports the prop, and is fixed to the hull by two legs. The legs look like a V (dont ask why they aren't called V frames.....)

And when you say accurate measurements what do you mean? Hi Afkmatrix, yes I shall be asking Sitek to me up some brass A frames for me. What i mean about the measurements is that I am reluctant to glue in my prop shafts into the hull incase I put them in wrong. I prefer to wait 'till I get the supplied faired housings that go on the outside of the hull, they will show me what postion the shafts go in, then I can measure the prop shafts to the hull and order up the A frames. I apreciate i will be waiting a year or more perhaps, but that is better than finding that the housings don't fit properly because the shafts are in the wrong place or at the wrong angle!

Fair enough may do the same as I think a brass A frame would look awesome. For the housings are you waiting to see what hatchett are providing or have you sorced them else where or are you making them?

Tell me about it, I am job hunting at the mo and buying the motors from Markus was a case of closing my eyes and sending the money lol. And it just adds up!! I have to buy the easy hands thing and the glue etc for the brass. Then I am doing my decking manually so that means I have to buy the 1mm x 1mm strips and also a mini electric saw for cutting out the ply sheets sooo I hope I get a job soon!!
