Well done Gordon, I would not have spotted your error as I'm waiting on issues 69-72, I think, been sniffing glue all night. , well not really finally got brave enough to attach the main rear deck on Snowberry and be darned if I didnt have to use superglue on the aft end, finally stuck in place. Cantankerous old ship this one, course it only took 'em 6 weeks to knock 'em off the rails back in la belle province. Au revoir! Keep up the good work.

Some updates on my progress. Tricky but not to bad.. Same goes here, nothing to difficult I though the hoist was a complete nightmare.. Could hardly see the parts but got there in the end. I don't know about anyone else but I found this to be more difficult than it looks. Still not happy with the finish so some more sanding and painting required.

How did you manage to bend the railing to fit the curvature of the grey plastic semi circles (for want of a better word!)
I was thinking of using an aerosol can - a Lynx can has almost the correct curvature of the grey semi-circle.

Word of advice on bending the brass round things - it springs back after you have bent it so if you use something of the same curvature (diameter) as the bend you want, it won't be bent enough. As a rough rule of thumb, chose an object about 1/2 to 2/3 of the curvature you want to achieve and then when it springs back it will be about right.
For those semi circles I used a metal tube about 1.25 inches diameter as the former.

Ta for the tip.
Might have to raid the missus dressing table for her aerosol cans!

Hi Achtung,
As Popeye has mentioned its best to use something about 1/3rd of the diameter. personally its a bit trial and error. I use a number of different objects ranging from pens, markers and the like to get the best fit. where the radius is not even I use pliers to make the fine adjustments.

Don't know about Oban Eric but we had 6" of snow fall over the weekend so the choice was:
a) shovel snow from the driveway (why do people do that?) or b) get busy with the Bissy and a pint of Deuchars...
Guess which option I took?

When I was a kid back home, I had to get up at 630am and shovel out the drive so Dad could get the car out to go to work. Then, while we were at school the plows would have done our street, and you guessed it, out come the shovels again so he could get back in the drive after work. If you left your car on the street they would plow around it and you'd have even more work. Just rememeber this was over 40 years ago, prior to All-season radial tires. But then you could always go play ice hockey after!

The whole driveway shovelling thing is a bit of a mystery to me… I watched most of my neighbours out on their driveways at 8am…. digging. The snow was 6” deep which most cars will quite happily drive through. They then pile it up on the pavement so you need to walk on the road and the pile of snow will take till spring to melt. Then its out with the 4x4’s (planker award anyone!) .. Shovel all the snow from their driveways but don’t bother with the car!! Then its off to the shops with 6” of snow on the roof so the first time they brake, the whole lot slides off the roof onto the windscreen so they cant see where they are going. Luv the winter. End of rant! It looks nice though.
