If i remember correctly there is no central propellor if you go the RC kit route. Is it possible to have a few pics of the A frames that come with the kit? Also I know this is a big ask but a scan of the Instruction booklet would be awesome.

The centre prop is supplied, but I gather it is simply screwed into position. It doesn't turn. The extra drag is unlikely to cause a noticable drop in performance.
Does the Speed controller have a switch on it to switch on/off the receiver ?

My centre prop will also be fixed and non-rotating, I have a 2mm prop shaft cut down and a 2mm hole drilled into my resin part D.
As Mark says, if we were building a high performance speed boat it would be a huge mistake, but on the Bismarck with her slow speed it should not be a problem.

...Is it possible to have a few pics of the A frames that come with the kit?... yep, they can be seen on the poster supplied with the first issue ;D don't know when they will be delivered or if they really look as good as shown.. that's why i had scratch build them with a little help of uncle brower ;D ref. the gearboxes i would suggest to go mark's route with the cut-out keel plate (if still possible after having planked) think it's the only way to achieve a realistic angle of the outer propshafts markus

Was just thinking if the center propellor has to be screwed onto the resin part after you drill a hole through it, why didn't they supply it with a hole already cast into it Just a thought.

There are lots of things that could have been pre-done on this model Skyfire, but I think that the general idea is to make you have some input into the finished model and not just to glue parts together, which is why I do not like plastic kits!!! If you have ever scratch built, the feeling when the job is done is fantastic, worth trying if you never have!!!

I can follow you there, Swanrail.
Every time I finish a part on my Richelieu it feels like a huge victory, and I am really looking forward to the day when I can look at my completed build - in amazement I am sure.

I think that you are doing a fantastic job Poulw, and an inspiration to others who have never tried this type of modelling before. You will probably find, as I have, that doing standard kits again is a bit boring, which is why, if you have been following my threads, I am always looking out for fresh challenges, just following the Hachette instructions blindly is not for me!!! Remember to that when you finish, not only is your own work but a unique model which does not exist in your format anywhere else, not one of 5 thousand Bismarcks!!!

I have had my R/C gear for some weeks now and have actually installed it. But I am afraid to say if you have any queries on it, you won't get any satisfaction from Hachette. I have been querying things since last November and have had not much respons.e

you will need to open a photo share album such as photobucket.com/You can upload your photos onto the site then you can copy the URL codes. When you hit the reply on the thread you will see a button called 'insert image', paste the URL in between the two sets of brackets [/img] Have a look in 'Testing....testing....Hey, is this thing switched on?' for more details.
