Hi Chris, Do you mean the grey coloured square at the bottom of the page - I think that is just a line drawing of the laser cut wooden parts in the photo above.

The only things on issue 12 that matches your description are instruction diagram showing where you have to file or sand the mounting area for the resin central prop shaft to match the profile of the hull.

I don't know what the instructions say, but my guess would be that there is no need to do it on a static model.

I agree I,m doing static too no need for bandaging it is simply reinforcement and not required for a static.
