Hello to all. Looking at all of these Bismarck's that are many issues ahead of where we are at in NZ (Issue 18) is providing inspiration to keep me going even if the planking (& sanding ) seems never ending! My Bismarck will be R/C and at the moment I'm pondering what electronic goodies I can pack into the hull ;D as this website has given me plenty of ideas. Progress thus far: flickr.com/photos/22682514@N08/2797985442/

Welcome aboard Morrigan. I am sure that you will find plenty of help on the forum, main problem is finding the relevant info, as we are getting so much!!!! You also have the advantage that the German section, followed by us Brits have found out most of the problems so your build should be easier, it is always nice to see what is coming in the future which helps planning and assembly easier!!! Some of us earlier members have been very quiet lately, in my case due to not doing much modelling in the "summer" as I have too much to do outdoors, currently have issues 70 thru 79 just waiting to be looked at. But now the nights are drawing in again will probably catch up. We are now in the depths of a mountain of brasswork, with lots of superglue, a bit boring unfortunately. Good luck with your build!

Welcome Morrigan. Your Bismarck is looking good, I'm from what you guys call West Island. LoL ;D ;D ;D I'm planning to have 3 motors in mine and if the weather will ever improve I might be able to get some more work done. I have me 1st layer planking done, just need to sand it down.

Ooooh I never saw that Morrigan was a lady, WELCOME!! Hehe at least we can now stick together in this male forum hehe. Only joking the guys here are awesome and very helpful. I wouldn't be in serious trouble sometimes if I hadn't got advice from the guys here.

Welcome. Your build is coming along nicely. Enjoy the insanity you find here, but every once in awhile we do abit of modelling.

another lady here, cool your motors are really big hope you manage to get a small angle of the shafts with these monsters, maybe you'll have to remove the keel plate under the motors - just like mark did: www.buildthebismarck.co.uk/detailframe.htmmarkus

Thank you all, for the compliments *blush* and welcomes I'm glad to see I'm not the only girl on board:) at least I have someone to share tips with on how to keep hubby away from my toy. Yup, my motors are whoppers , I'm one of the 'big motor running at low revs/ throttle' crowd. After a chat with my hobby goodies supplier, I've fitted universal joints so I can lay the prop shafts flat and placed a spare bit of decking under the rear of the motors to angle them down a little:

Interesting way of doing your drive, are you going to do a build diary of your Bismarck.

I'm from the evil North Island, and live in Auckland to boot I will be doing a build diary even though in NZ we are waaaay behind everyone else sigh. The thought of all that brass to come has me quivering in me boots already.

Awwww. At least you'll be able to see where everyone else went wrong. I went to NZ in 1995 and went by train over both islands.
