Hi Markus, Does Hachette suggest how you paint the railings that they supply? no, they only told us to mark the hundreds of holes along the hull sides. their kind of railings (with stanchions/wire) can only be painted AFTER mounting as any paint would immediately close the stanchions' holes.... painting before mounting means cleaning 900 holes + painting the nylon wire before threading through the stanchions (don't know if the painted nylon wire fits into the stanchions or if the paint stays on the nylon when threaded through the stanchions) painting after mounting means masking the whole deck also i'm not convinced that a grey-painted nylon wire will keep its color for a long time (hachette provided black nylon wire) markus

Can you take Western Union transfers Markus and can you confirm that it's 900 stanchions that are used if you follow Hatchette idea.

Ahh ok 300, but threading through 3 holes- yikes. Going to test using Western Union getting the Earth, Moon & Sun Orbiter from jcmanu. So you may get a request from me for the straight railings fairly soon after that. Hopefully they will have some more in stock by then.

Markus, that looks perfect, are your rails attached to the deck or the hull?

Markus, that looks perfect, are your rails attached to the deck or the hull? they're attached to the deck, right beside the deck veneer... when removing the deck, only the rails at the ship's ends remain markus

hi markus how many hole`s do you have you drill per strip of railing`s? no single one i removed all the 'pins' from the railing and glued the bottom of the railing to the deck - result is a really strong bond...
