There are some really nise models on display their After looking at your marvellous Jolly boat I have a historical question. Was the Jolly boat actually kept on the Bounty? The reason I ask is that I am about to start building the Del prado Bounty partworks and one of the first few issues builds the Small boat on deck and it looks a lot smaller then the Jolly Boat .

I think it was kept on deck, but there is 1 website which says it's maybe not an actualy Jolly boat.
Not sure where I saw it now, also no idea how accurate the site was about it.

Wouldn't pannick too much about it folks. The origin of 'Jolly boat' is not defined specifically by any knowledgeable nautical source, but appeared around the mid 1700's Fredrik Chapman certainly didn't draw plans of one in his definitive 'Architectura Navalis Mercatoria' The Jolly is close or similar to a yawl and much smaller than a pinnace. Some say it is clinker build Used by the sailors able to be launched from the deck .............or slung from the rear of a ship All in all Sky, from its size and build, I would say your model has definite claims to representing the definition.

The K166 in the background is the HMS Snowberry. The large ship with the 2 masts is the Virginia. The boat in front of mine is the Flattie and the 1 astern of that is another Jolly Boat.
The fishing boat is the Mare Nostrum. The hull section is from the the HMS Victory and the cannon & carronade are from the Napoleonic era.
They are all kits except for possibly the HMS Snowberry which might be a scratch build, (unkown at this time though).

Thanks for clearing that up Baz Sky I think the Snowberry in the picture is the Matchbox/Revell 1/72 kit - it certainly looks the right size to be it

Had a close look at the card with it and it said "Modified Revell Kit - Working Model" so your right grantj. Closer view of her.

Finished, well just about. The actual boat is complete, I just need to add the oars, (paddles ) and for that I need to find another 3mm dowel.
