As JC said, I went over to see him the other day. He's an incredibly strong and resililant person, and he's certainly giving his cancer a good run for it's money. I had a very enjoyable time chatting to him and will be visiting him again shortly.

As a foot note, JC is waiting for a bowel to become available for him from a donor. If you want to donate your organs after you die (let's be honest, you aren't going to need them any more !) you simply have to register with the NHS as a donor. It's quick and simple to do, jsut go to www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt/default.jsp1000 people die every year waiting for a suitable organ. Of course, nobody wants to be in the position to help them, but..................

Don't know about the UK, but Irish Driving Licences have an organ donor consent box on the back, which makes it really easy. nm

Fantastic suggestion Mark and I have been talking to my wife about doing just that for long enough but we never got round to it so we are both going to do it now.

I visited JC yesterday evening and spent a nice couple of hours chatting. Considering what he's going through, he's doing OK. Bearing up well, but I think he gets a bit lonely with no family in the area to visit. The poor guy is stuck here for another few weeks before he can go home. He's got a model of HMS Prince of Wales to keep him amused for a while now.
