Paul,
I had the same problem and added a single layer of planking below part D then sanded the keel the minimum required to allow a second layer to be flush with part D. About 1/2mm below should do it..

Hello Gordon Think it will be 2 losts of planking i need to put under part D That will just about bring it up to the rite level for the second planking. Gona wait till we get the sencond planking and the sort it out.Cheers

Blimey thats a lot, it seems an odd problem, it might be an idea to try and establish why before you leap to packing its height even though it appears this is the only thing that will sort it.

i think that this model wasn't intended as rc-model (with a 2nd planking) from the beginning, so it seems amati never planned a 2nd layer of planks
maybe that's why the first two resin parts at the stern fit perfectly with the 1st planking??
later delivered resin parts at the bow also fit when having double planked...

i had the same problem with part d i angled the top down and rubbed the stern down and it all looks good i can get pics if you want to see them

sorry for the late reply been at gf's house i think that the second layer will cover up the top of part d and so it will have a nice enough slant down

Good, clear pics Russ. I have just dry fitted my part D and it looks as though the second layer will cover the top, as you have suggested. Great minds think alike!! hehehehe

no i just test fitted it there i think it is glued down closer to the second planking
