I'm 44....I think.....
I own my own B&B, so although I work at home, so to speak, just now I have no time to spare on model making. Owning a B&B is a bit of a 24 hour job, seven days a week!!
Married, two kids 1 almost 20, but still waiting for her to GROW UP! and 1 at 9 now, not yet entered grotty teenagerhood!

Nice to see all the feedback and to know a little more about all the Bissy and/or is it now the busy Builders out there.
Anyhow, a quick look at everyones reply shows that there is quite a lot of engineers, technical people and people with hobby shops or similiar kind of shops. Thus we have highly skilled and professional people out there building their respective models.
We even have disabled people in this forum. I absolutely admire them for their passion for life en their will to enjoy life, even if disabled. Good for you, keep it going!
The age is also spread out over a wide range. My gut feeling that the majority of people must be retired people is thus not valid anymore, seems to me.
But where is all the women? I can understand that this type of hobby might probably suite men more, but all the ladies out there, don't be shy, let us hear from you. Against my will, and this is hard to admit, I have to say that my ladyfriend, that helps me out on my Lancaster and Flying Scotsman models, equals my skills! (Hope she does not read this last sentance).
Grantj susgested some photo's of our BB. So how about it? Go grad that photo you took many, many years ago, while you were still handsome looking and which buckled all the girls knees...
I think the photo's can also be very interesting indeed. Now I have to go and see where is that photo of mine...

Me? 58, living with my missus, one of my early ex girl-friends who's too often traveling around for her business to my taste. Worked over thirty years for the International Herald Tribune as their art director and being at present a freelance graphic artist. Would think that with no children, no pets I have plenty of time at hands? Wrong, days are bloody too short! Seen this Paris picture? twitpic.com/1qedi1nm

Is is probably only fair for me to show my picture first, as I have started this topic. I was still busy to settle myself when the cameraman took the picture, therefore it looks like I am seeing a ghost of some sort. Anyhow, here is my picture and now nobody else have any excuse not to post your pictures. It would be nice to see how all the BB look (women included of course). I am sure this will give some social personality to this forum and between all the builders. For interesting sake, here is some of my other hobbies: fishing (river, dams, sea, music, collect westerns (spaghetti westerns), collect first and second world war documentaries, woodwork (building all kinds of furniture), reading afrikaans books and some English (collect series books), backpacking, cycling, beach volleyball, building models (busy with 4 models simultaneously), stamps, beekeeping (have 9 hives, making beeswax candles, etc.)and love playing computer war games. Hope to see other pictures soon. Attachments:

I am 65, retired from the Royal Navy as a submarine engineer but still working full time as a nuclear safety engineer (how else are we going to get all those shiny new reactors and keep the lights on and the carbon down?).
I am married with 2 girls (all naval submariners have girls, its something they put in our tea! - although the real answer I am told is to do with the motility of femail producing sperm in an enhanced carbon dioxide atmosphere - apparently this is a survival characteristic hangover from when we were cavemen), one is a Royal Marine (with a boyfriend but no matrimony in sight yet) the other a psychologist (now engaged but wedding date uncertain while she and her fiancee complete their doctorates).
I do my model engineering, particularly steam engines, in my spare (!) time. Go to Popeye Build area to get link to photos
