Thanks, guys - you are the best. Couldn't have done it without all your input to this Forum. I've had as much pleasure reading and participating in this Forum, as building the model! Grant, I am now restarting my scratch build of the Mersey ferry MV Mountwood, the boat upon which Jerry and the Pacemakers filmed "Ferry cross the Mersey" in 1965. I couldn't decide on the scale so am building two - 1:48 and 1:60 scale. I am using styrene sheet for the main deck bulwarks and superstructure for the first time so I will practice on the 1:60 and use the 1:48 as the Master. Here is a picture of her sister ship, the MV Woodchurch.

That's one beautiful model, Mike. Congrats.
You mentioned that you had some parts left over. As you know, I am not building the Bismarck, so I am definitely no expert, but from deck markings shown in your photos (I assume that they are of the finished model) it looks to me that some bollards or something are missing, both along the sides and just behind the jack post at the stern. Are those parts forgotten, or left out on purpose?

Hi Poul, nothing left out - even the final instruction photos show these locations unfilled. I checked pics of other builds and they are the same - perhaps someone can enlighten us?

I contacted the naval architects who designed her. They pulled three of the original silk, General Arrangement drawings from their archives and sent them out to be scanned as PDF's. - cost me a bomb!
