Chill, try marking the right place for the bend with a pencil, and then just gently cracking them over your thumb nail. They sort of crack a bit, but shouldn't actually break.

Sorted it out- I ended up steaming the planks a bit to get them in the right shape. About to move on to issue 23 now. And Im not sticking down the foredeck yet till well after the second planking starts.

Hi Mark, Just like to say that having looked at all the photos so far posted in the gallery, that all show a remarkable likeness to one an other. This is obviously very encouraging for amateurs like myself so keep up the good work lads. I doff my hat to you all.

Thanks Mark, looks good!
Can I ask why you'v not yet compeated the hull planking above the armoured belt? Oh, and Issue 28 is part of the REAR superstructure, not forward.
Erm....not that I would EVER presume to correct yourself....SAH! ;D

Thanks Eric - I was wondering when somebody would spot my deliberate mistake. Embarrased cough.....
Planking ? Well, I kinda got fed up with planking, and Polly took over the building table...... Now I'm starting to get fed up with cleaning up the edges of the brass plates that make up Polly's cab, so the Bismarck may retake the battle ground.

Mark, Like the little helper! As far as I know 'Kilroy' was an American armaments inspector during WW11 and left his mark of approval with the phrase 'Kilroy was here' which is now plastered over every bus shelter etc. in the country.......but doubtless someone knows different? John
