i think the best choice in motors is a mabuchi RS380 or graupner speed 400. these motors are quite small, but offer a lot of power.
some model shops offer stator rings for these motors. they're simply pushed onto the motor's housing. result is lower rpm and higher torque..
the motor's diameter shouldn't exceed 30mm to allow the shafts being fitted in appropiate angle (diameter of speed 400 is approx. 28mm)

G.Day Mark,thanks for the feed back. I do not think that the Guy in the Model Shop realised that there were other types of Craft,only High Speed Boats and Helicopters. Mind you the vast adds on the eBay seem to be for Brushless Motors and the like. I will keep looking. Gerry

Is'nt the Hachette RC set due out to customers anytime, think i read somwhere about it being sent out when issue 58 goes on sale, anyone seen it yet as curious as to how good/bad it is?
