Although it is a bit late, this is something that is so obvious, it tends to be forgotten.
Wash your hands with soap and water frequently when gluing planks or preparing the hull for painting.
It is surprising the amount of skin oils that transfer to wood when handling it and this can affect the strength of glue joins and the paint finish.
