Can anyone help. With regards to the brackets for the search light domes in issue 118, can some one re-advise me on how to build them. As I stuffed the last ones up.

I just got 116-119 - 117 has the brass bits for more boat cradles and some bits for the bridge swing set? I've taken to remove brass etching with a pair of nail scissors. I used to cut them out with an exacto knife but find the scissors far easier and safer actually.
But rereading your post, perhaps I have my issue numbers mixed up. With plastic parts I use a very very sharp knife and press gently on a hard tile surface. Watching very carefully if any part of the plastic piece wants to bend where it shouldn't. I get the searchlights in the next issue set which is in late November.
You'll be fine Chill, just patience mate.

Chill are on about bending parts 1186/1185 if so, heres what I did. Put a flat edge ward file which just fitted between the bend lines. have the bend lines faceing down. Press down on your cutting matt, ease up the side rails with a stanley knife blade, Then just tweek them with a small set of tapered flat nose pliers. it wasnt perfect but it worked mike

I will have a practice on my damaged ones first, before I start on the pristine ones.
