Hallo Robert and everyone else who are following this grandmaster in modelbuilding.I have a question Robert. Did you some detailling on the interieur as we'll. Saw youre beautifull binoculairs and they are really something. There's a lot off stuff for the inner wheelhouse on the Eduard etch set and will make some pics as soon as they are ready.Maybe some other builders did some on that wheel house and I,m curious to see what others have done with itI was busy with my binoculairs and when I was finally finished it dropped out off my lame hand on the floor. Trying to pick it up I STEPPED ON IT. Broken beyond repair. So I took the ordering paper (is in evry package) and orderd a new one.Now will see how quick Italeri is in responding to something lik that. Read that you are a bit short off cash so when I get the fernglass then maybe I send it to you and detail it for me? ? Offcourse for some euro's? ? Read some about a moustache?? See if I can find a pic where you all can see my moustache. Is an oldy and he is a little greyer now. Keep up everybody and don't give up the building. Gr,Harry. Attachments:

Some detailling with the Edurd set. But a little introduction first. I,m a retired musician and have allways been busy with modelling on the side. Now unfortunatly while working on a English minesweeper from WW2 I sufferd a stroke that left me with a an allmost paralized left side off my body. Lucky for me trough the years off playing instruments, Bass, Piano and Drums I,m two handed and manage to do the normal things in life. I,m bound to a wheelchair and the modelling is going very slowly. I,ll brace my lefthand against something and do my things.Takes a lot off time but what the hack, I have all the time in the world. here a pic off my steeringstand whitout the fernglass.Clumsy me. Anyway I have a lot off fun and even if I have to make things three times over I,ll get there. Oh yes,my boat will be R.C and running on three motors.Propshafts are allready in it. Is there a way to put more pics on the forum? Have fun you all building the boat. Gr,Harry. Attachments:

Hi Harry, Ouch! Must have been very painful to step on your binoculars. I bet you were jocking when asking to set new binoculars. I'm sure you can do it, if not better ! So, my very best wishes go to you for the new assembly and I hope we'll soon take pleasure in seeing your new ones displayed on the forum! As to what concerns the open bridge, I ordered extra sprues to the French distributor since the inside space is a bit too narrow for the crew to move. But I haven't worked on it yet. While being at it, I also ordered one more square life raft as three of them were assigned to each S-Boot. Have you tried opening an account with Photobucket.com to store your piccies? Here are two websites, one German, one Dutch that may be of some interest to you: www.modellboard.net/index.php?topic=27465.0www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/bouwverslagen-schepen/72708-bouwverslag-8ste-schnellboot-flottille-italeri-1-35-a.htmlPS: Nice build and superb moustaches, Harry! Hallo Robert. A question. The rivets you used on the boat, are that the rivets from Archer? Can,t find a dealer here in Holland and when its right, I mean you used the Archer rivets I will have to order them probably in England. Anyway keep up the good work and in a little while I,ll be back with some pics. Gr,Harry Kootstra.

More progress on the way. I've begun to correct the platform seating above the pedestal where the two 20mm twin mount (flakzwilling) 38 guns were fitted. Almost there! Hi Harry. You're right, they are Archer's rivets, (Surface details #15, ref. AR88015). I got mine from www.axels-modellbau-shop.de/katalog/ in Germany. Since they are in the Euro zone, I'd rather recommend you to purchase them there. Unless you want to be charged for extra fees! Up to you.

Hi Robert. Thank you for youre reply. I know Axels modellbau, I orderd the Eduard sets over there and yes its more conviniend to order in the Euro zone. Have not been doing much on the boat lately because of my health, but in a short while been sending pictures again. Sincerely Harry.

Hello Robert. Do you know the Tamiya modeling magazine?? A couple of months ago there was an article about the Schnellie and was one of the reason I bought the boat. He, not a superdetailler like you, but, the paintwork is really something.Send you a pic to make your mouth watering. So if you don,t know the article I will send you some more pics. In the meantime, keep them coming those beautifull pics of your asthonishing work. Goodnight ,Harry. Attachments:

Hi gents, Rod, the building for this boat is certainly best if done in sub-assemblies, believe me. Each of which requires to be corrected, as you might have noticed, and fully completed before moving to the next, then stored until the final assembly for painting. Soon you'll be able to see it all put together. Be patient, we're almost there! @ Harry: thanks, but Mark forwarded me a copy published last Oct. in Britain. Most of the flakzwilling is now done. I added a few bolts here and there and removed the original guns for Trumpeter's far more better detailed ones (Flakvierling 38, box #02309). Now, 'Tally-ho' to the shield! rpalmacci.free.fr

Thanks Mike for your truly appreciated incentive words! A little fill-in... That sloped ammo rack was too much of a temptation... I could not resist to bring it to life.

It's my way to confine the silent frustration that was mine after seeing all the fabulous builds of the Bismarck, yours included Baz. I unwind on this model like a maniac! ;D Markus, it is hard indeed not to resist painting all the parts, trust me! But since this boat was painted "Schnellbootweiss," a color your have to make on your own, I believe this is the best way to go. That way I can avoid trying to reproduce the right tint every time I make a step ahead. And it saves me from cleaning tens of times the airbrush!!!
