Hi, Just starting on the second planking phase. I am wondering, what happens from here in regards to the hull, painting, more planking, ........ Jeff

Hi jeff, you'll be several weeks planking the hull, attatching the resin parts and bilge keel parts, then after sanding and filling you can paint the hull with undercoat.
Not much more happens to the hull for a long time after that (although it is still not compleated), you're onto the brass-work on the supertructure next!

Hi Jeff,
Once you've finished the 2nd planking, and the bits Eric mentioned, the hull comes to a standstill for ages. I wouldn't go too mad on painting it yet as there is still loads to do to it. Fitting prop shafts, drillling port holes, rudders, and no doubt a few other details.
It's worth keeping an eye on the German previews as it gives you an idea of what's coming. They are a few months ahead of us, but they haven't made any progress on the hull for ages. I think the last thing they did was drilling port holes in issue 53 (54 ?) which we in the UK have also done.
