Hi. Ok I am currently plodding through planking my decks (wow what a slow process lol). And I am just about to get to the things outlined in red in the pic below. Now what I was thinking of doing is take the planking up to the borders and then cutting out that shape from my 1mm of lime sheeting, I have done the 1mm sheeting for the parts in blue and its worked great. The other option is to plank straight over it and cut it out later. And the other option is to use filler instead of the 1mm sheeting. So what would you suggest?

Umm not sure Matrix, but I've been wondering if anything has to be stuck onto those locations you have marked later on in the build and if so does a gap have to be left for that part

Could you cut the partts out of the supplied decking, and then inlay them into your planked deck ? It's a technique used in marquetry. I can give a more detailed explanation if you need. It would, of course mean destroying your supplied deck. Alternatlively, scan the deck, print it on a laser printer, and them iron the relevant section of the print over some 1mm wood. The toner, being heat sensitive, should leave a pattern on the wood. You could then cut that out and inlay it.
Another tip, put some clear tape over the part before you cut it out. If the wood splits ( as it most likely will !) the tape will hold it together. You can prise the tape off once the part is safely glued in place.
