Little late to ask now, but what kind of masking tape to you use. I used and have read that Tamiya is the best, if you can get it the 10mm roll, but I've used 6mm, with no real bleeding. Strange it would bleed up like that. The other solution is sand back down to your primer coat, we still have prop shaft mounts to go on and quite some time to go, so it may be a case of back to the drawing board. You'll sort it mate i used a cheap masking tape from lidl think i'll have to go for tamiya tape and do it again markus

Many moons ago I had trouble with cheap masking tape which kept bleeding through. Eventually bit the bullet and got a slightly more expensive one from my car accessory shop and it works fine!

I had trouble with plain masking tape trying to paint a British Airways livery onto a 747 model, It bled like crazy on the tail. The model was repainted all silver like the NASA one that carries the space shuttle.

Just my two pennies worth of input to the bleeding issue.
If you want to avoid bleeding completely, you first spray against the edge of the masking tape with a light coat of the same colour as the one you are masking.
Any bleeding would then be the same colour as the one under the masked area, and at the same time the paint will seal the edge of the tape.
When dry, you can continue with painting the proper colour and have no bleeding at all.

Your model looks very good markus. Although I have never tried it I like Poulw's idea regarding the masking tape bleed. I see you have still got black props fitted. Are you having trouble finding brass ones? There is this chap in Germany who has some fantastic ones HA!

that's a bummer, markus... let's just hope they come back in stock soon then eh any chance of a picture with the deck/superstructure on the painted hull? you have a awesome build markus, I hope my bismarck will turn out as good as yours! I might order a set of 3 motors/RC from you soon, but it depends on what my parents have to say... it is a bit too expensive to buy in one go, might buy stuff as I need it...

hi danny ! unfortunately not, but they can be converted to M2 thread easily.. here's your pic, note that the hull is already sanded for the next painting attempt it will be re-painted as soon as i got hold of tamiya masking tape

wow, that's a beautiful model, markus!
I thought that it was near completion, but I see there is still alot missing... ( although some things haven't been put on your model yet that are already in your possesion)
I think there's no way hachette is going to make the 140 issue mark if they don't start supplying parts soon! there's still the lifeboats, planes, railings, deck fittings, cannon barrels, decking, searchlights, searchlight covers, radar installations, cranes, rigging, and funnel to come... and lots more...
although I don't think it was smart to show the big plan on the wall, everyone's going to want one now ;D
once again, a beautiful model and I hope my model will turn out like yours!
