This model looks really great. I'm also glad to see soneone else's model with the hull painted (stripes n all!) I was beginning to worry that I had painted mine too soon.
One question though - I have enquired and I can only get up to part 80 from Hachette. Your model appears far more advanced than that (turrets brass clad etc). Where did you get the parts??

your ship is looking brill markus, hope mine is any where near as good as yours, everyone seems to have solved your paint problem, in the 2nd pic marcus has posted, will some one please tell me ,where the shaft leaves the hull, where do i get the moulding to hold the shaft in place, not the a-frames ,my hull is all filled and primed, but i still have not got the prop shafts on , are they in a future issue , or even with the r/c control i have ordered and still waiting for. being a painter and signwriter by trade im dying to paint hull, but cant until i get these shaft supports on and filled , etc. hellllppppp! jc

Hi Felix, remember that Markus is building the German version and they are about 30 issues ahead of us. See the link in the main section of the forum for the German pre-views, these are not only interesting to see what is coming, but also help to plan ahead.

Hi jcmanu, Several of us (including markus) have scratch built the outside prop mouldings and A frame supports. In my case, like you, I wanted to get some paint on the hull (if nothing else, but to protect it) and therefore it was necessary to do it ourselves. At the moment, looking at issue 107 on the German preview, there is still no sign of the "proper" mouldings, we are betting on them being deliverd in issue 139!!!!(perhaps we should set up a betting book?). Mine were designed using the Anatomy of the Bismarck book, and carved from solid wood, others have used various techniques different to me. Picture below gives a rough idea on my model:

thanks swanrail, im fed up with mailing hachette about it and getting no responce. nice job by the way, have to try it myself, just get the right timber. by the way , i have no r/c yet, but to carve a test model, what diameter hole is needed for shaft to go through it. ta jc

indeed, some of us were tired of waiting so we built the propshaft supports ourselves. diameter depends on the used propshafts. the hachette drive set has 6mm - i used 4mm ones note that hull isn't repainted by now on wednesday i'll get issue 104 so maybe i can finish the deck next weekend...
