Good looking models. Interesting enough, I have been toying with building the Waverley for some years now, even got the plans and hundreds of pictures as I am a founder member of the Society which owns her. Somehow, I keep getting distracted by models such as the Bismarck!!! She used to come to my home town of Swanage each Autumn, but a couple of years ago her sister ship the Balmoral did some serious damage to our pier so she cannot get in at present. Perhaps with the winter evenings upon us, and the Bismarck proceeding extremely slowly, I might get round to having a go at the Waverley. Here she is at swanage pier before it got wrecked:

That is the Waverley, she comes into Oban during the May bank holiday weekend every year and does several cruises around the west coast.
She always looks magnificent steaming out of the bay. I watch her from the windows of my dinning room. One day I'll get to have a cruise on her myself, but that is always a mega busy weekend....no chance to get out.

Those models are fantastic. Great inspiration. I too love the Waverly. I had a trip on her many years ago, and hope to repeat it sometime soon.

Aahhhhhhhhhhh just checked your latest posting
2nd one must be the Essex or Constitution. Do you know if its a kit (which) or a scratch job ??

Unknown on both counts Baz. Didn't get to meet the owners and there was no info as to whether it was scratch or kit built. All I know is that the Waverley was a scratch build. Did a bit of editing on the original photo.

The single decker is the Constitution, I think the three decker is Le Superb, the vagaries of the individual builder. however compare this www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/mantua_le_superbe.htmlthough notice no lanterns on the taff rail and compare the figureheads, though the picture quality makes it hard to be sure. Plus the main mast forestays are spider rigged on the mantua and not on the other , but again this could be down to the builder.
