Didn't know where to post this: Went to see the 1/10 scale Yamato in Kure, Japan. www.yamato-museum.com/en/collection/collection01.htmlIt's easy to find. 30 or 45 minutes by local train from Hiroshima, clearly marked route from the railway station. Forgot all about the Yamato Wharf (outline of full-size Yamato) until I got back home. These pictures don't give much of an idea of the size of the model. NM

OK - I'm seriously jealous now !! I'd love to go and see that. Japan is a fantastic place - well worth a visit.

Some years ago I was thinking of a quick trip to Australia from London - best fare was with Japan Airlines, overnighting (free) in Tokyo on the way back.
Didn't get to make the trip, though.

The Yamato movie came out in 2005 - 60th Anniversary of the sinking. Here's the website (I don't speak or read Japanese). www.yamato-movie.jp/NM
