mmm would love to comly but in a bit of a mess at mo with the cash flow Hope you get things sorted out soon, hate being in that state. Now onto issue 4 of the build, not too bad, just a bit of careful bending of 2 peices of metal and some gluing.

The Hachette version is the 1928 version, which is much closer to the second one. The BR version must have been shortly before she was taken out of service.
You won't get the double funnel or wind deflectors with the partwork.

With either version I would have to do some scratch building and if I motorise it, I think I'll avoid the motor and drive they are planning to supply. From what I have read on other forums it will only be good enough to run the loco along the 3' of track they supply with no load coupled on behind!!!

Just a thought Skyfire, but are you ever going to be able to run to loco with a heavy load. Needs lots of coaches and a lot of space in O gauge The loco has a fair bit of plastic, making it lighter, so it will not have the pulling power of a traditional metal kit anyway. Just wondering if you might be wasting your money fitting an expensive motor........... If I were building it (I was tempted) I'd probably fit the standard motor and cobble a bit of track somewhere, or maybe make a rolling road, just so I could say that it did work !! I don't have a layout that I could run it on.

I do have a fairly sizeable garden here and experience of underweight Ho/OO Sclae locos. Amazing what a bit of lead in the right place can do, I have some lying around in a box with the layout. Cool Wacking great motor it is then ? ;D

Won't have anything much happening until issues 1,2,6 & 7 turn up. I have them on backorder.

Skyfire's train looks very good, I am certainly tempted but probably too much on at the moment. Talking about ballast to weigh the train down, see my solution for my A4 Pacific train at : www.flickr.com/photos/commander-popeye/

Get cracking with the cab then Sky. Note, the window frames are in backwards in the magazine pictures. The lip should be on the inside - the frames will go in as stay straight really easy then.

Thanks for the tip. BTW in the dvd the person doing the build sits the cab on the footplate back to front!
