I just saw some spacemarines and thought i'd show some of mine. Nearly all my models are at the moment stored in the attic and allot of them were fallen over or an arm dropped off because the superglue couldn't hold the metal parts Here are some Spaceorks and will post some Eldar and Chaos marines as soon as i fixed them up abit. The models shown are made about 7 years ago and are the last ones ive painted before my modelling sabbatical. The scenerie they are standing on is six sided for easy to change and always fitting battleground.. also made by me Ork boss.. one of the lesser ones Da Mastah Enjoy Wiking

wish I could paint like that, my space marines show how I've changed my painting style over the years lol. I'm almost there, I struggle with the faces the most. great models

Awesome paint job !! How do you get the metal areas to look so old and worn. The diorama is pretty neat too

The trick i use to make things look used and torn is drybrushing it is quite time consuming but it gets (for me) the best result. For the in this case metal parts i use a basecoat of black and dry brush over it with the desired metallic colour. In the warboss photo i drybrushed metallic and covered some parts with red then i made it look like the paint has been leafing off by making small black parts on the most prone to have wear parts, wait untill the black part is dry and paint it over with a metallic but leave a small line of black visible ( makes it look like the damage has been there for a while) and then do a slight drybrush touchup to cover up the brush painting. Faces are not that hard to do either, apply a base coat of skin colour after its dried use a brown wash and apply it thick, then use a piece of toilet paper (prefferably not used ) and press it it on gently. This will leave the deeper parts of the face with wash and let it dry ( i usually do about 10 faces at the same time in that fase). When its dry i drybrush the face with its base colour and gradually go abit lighter to get the desired result. Mark, the diorama is infact a piece of battlefield scenery in a hexagon shape, i made about 10 of those as fast as i could to get the going (the cactus and the sugarpot from the missus arent quite realistic lol) Happy painting Richard
