Whilst ambling around the local car booty I spotted a couple of Tomy Zoids (robotic dinosaurs) I know they are really for kids but we are all big kids at heart and I've been collecting them since I was a kid got the first one in nabout 1983!
Anyhow after spending a whopping £2 on them originally priced at £9 each when first released,
I just happened to find what was marked up as a Complete set of Del Prado's Build the Bounty partwork from a good few years back.
I took the plunge and bought it... you had better sit down before I tell you the price...£20...yes thats right £20 ;D
After I struggled halfway home with my bounty (sorry bad joke) I phoned my brother to come and carry the box the rst of the way (thats what big brothers are for).
I started to sort through the box most of the issues had not been opened, but a few had and the bits where just in bags but no issue numbers so a quick check of the plans easly got them numbred.
I start to put them in order, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...all was ging fine 49, 50, 52, 53, 54...screech of brakes No number 51, so I went on 56... no number 55 in the end there turns out to be six missing which is not too bad I guess.
Missing issues are: 51, 55, 77, 90, 92, 95. after checking the isuues before each missing on it looks like the missing parts can all be sourced elsewhere as they are not structural, issues 51 & 55 look to be hull planking which is easy to get not sure of the others but the three in the 90's looks to be deadeyes and blocks whaich are also easy to find.
Not planning on starting work on it just yet will take a while as you have a lot on the internal workings of the ship to model.
This guy has built it looks impresive
