How about using a wet toothbrush to wash it off. White glue is water soluble, although it take a bit of time to soften. I'd try it on a piece of scrap first to see what works best of course.

White vinegar mixed with boiled water is excellent to remove surplus of white glue with a brush. Stinks, but works just great. Then you can give it a light sanding if necessary.
If I look at your box, you may be requested to speak English... and French... and Dutch... and Danish... and Spanish... and Portuguese... and Italian... and German to get the full instructions manual! ;D

I think it's time to consider a few scratch build mods for this kit

Another little mess to clean up The bow and stern on the Oseberg is the head and tail of a snake. On the pressure injected fittings from Billing, it just looked like this After modification, I managed to make it look at least a bit like it is supposed to look This build is getting a bit annoying. At the moment, I am scratch building a new "fish" (what is the correct term for it ) to centre and hold the mast. The laser cut one delivered with the kit just doesn't fit at all. I just have to repeat the good old modeller's motto: Problems are there to be solved

I’ve spent the last couple of days double and triple checking the kit. Quite a few parts either needed modifications or had to be scratch build. Among those was the rudder’s handle, which I made out of a 6mm round hardwood rod. My usual technique using the drill press and a file worked well again. I am now ready to start the planking, and a problem here is that the kit’s planks are made to join in between the frames ie. in mid air. Definitely not the way I would have liked to do it, but I have to live with it I guess.

The first two planks on each side are in place. Since the plywood tends to bend about 1-1.5mm over the length of the 3 wide middle frames, I have had to put in a temporary middle section to sit in place, until there are enough planks glued on to hold the frames in place. (The rest of the frames are straight). To hold the planks against each other while the glue dries (clinker build hull), I have made 30 small pegs with an opening 0.5mm less than the thickness of two planks put together. Those pegs work very well.

Have done some planking over the weekend. The hull planked up to near the gunwales. When seeing the model grow, you just can't help admiring the beautiful lines of those old warships. Over one thousand years ago, and they already mastered to build some of the most beautiful ships the world has ever seen. Amazing

You're making an excellent job of the kit, Poul. I Like the table it's on - that looks like a Billings kit as well! ;D

I Like the table it's on - that looks like a Billings kit as well! ;D The "table" (actually a stool) is not a Billing kit, but from another Scandinavian vendor of kits called Ikea ;D And there's a crew already in place! Wonderfull job, Poul, as we have all come to expect! Just how big will she be? Well spotted Eric. Yes, the captain has made his first inspection. He is in charge of a crew of four others, but they have not been invited until the next photo shoot ;D The model is in scale 1:25, so when finished - hopefully within two weeks from now - the dimensions will be L86 x W21 x H45 cm

The crew has arrived to inspect their new vessel (don't they look like a scary bunch? ;D ;D ;D ) Gunwales in place, and planking almost finished

Before I can mount the two final rows of top planks I'll have to finish the deck. I have tried to weather all light sections, including the deck planks, with dark stain and then sand back. To see what it looks like, I have cut and dry fitted the middle section I think it looks alright (it's a bit more reddish than shown) so planking all day tomorrow PS: The hole in the middle is the well for the mast arrangement.

Looks brilliant Poul. Have your crew got names yet ? They look mighty pleased with their boat. Bet they can wait to go invading once it's finished
