I've saved sall those photos onto my pc. Can't look at them just now as the pc has become U/S Think the power supply has carked it, using 1 of the other pc's on the network here. In the 1960's, NASA surveyed the moon - wanted to pick a spot for the moon landing. About twenty years later, someone was looking for pictures of the far side of the moon, eventually tracked them down. They were in a digital format, unreadable by any current computer. So they went looking for some computers, found some just before they were scrapped: some had broken parts, some had broken frames, they assembled the best bits, it didn't work so they asked they guys who had used them and they said that they often broke down! And nobody was about to go to the far side of the moon again to take a few snaps. I think they got the stuff eventually. And now twenty years later again, the Indians (or is it the Chinese?) are surveying the moon again. Migrate your digital archives so they are still accessible. nm

I've painted the hull now with the camo strips and it really wasn't that hard. I can post a few pictures if you like on how I do it. Its really just a process of masking tape, spray paint and dry time.
I won't be doing the superstructure, that's for painting masochists..
I'm happy with the result and the only people that will notice the small imperfections are the ants and tiny moths looking for a home..
cheers
Rod
EDIT: Whoa, this went into the wrong thread.. how did that happen? Mark any help on moving this to the painting thread would be most appreciated. EDIT AGAIN: oops no it didn't - sorry the moon digital images story threw me off... stand easy Mark..

Will be interesting to see your painting. Thinking of getting a small can of spray paint to paint the forward control center. Only thing is not sure what grey to get.

Skyfire,
I would first give it a coat of primer as this tends to show up all the imperfections. I ended up spraying, filling and sanding a number of times before I got a finish I was happy with.
Try using Tamiya fine surface primer. Its very good, if a tad expensive. If you can get Tamiya TS spray paints in Aus then you could try TS81 - unfortunately they have been withdrawn in the UK due to labeling issues.
Hope this helps.

Yes Gordon, those spray cans were on the shelf in Melbourne a few weeks back. Small can though and I think about $10.00 each I wouldn't worry too much about the shade if its the priming coat SKY Baz
