She's progressing very nicely, Eric and you're a much better and faster shipbuilder than I'll ever be! Specially as regards my poor Schnellboot low level of detail... I am starting now to regret Trumpeter did not issue it in the first place instead of Italeri. But this is another topic. Looking forward to seeing her come together. Cheers.

Cheers guys!
The ladders are a nightmare, the sequence for them is to tease out the individual steps into their correct angle while they are still attached to the fret otherwise you can never hold them flat without bending them, I found this out the hard way!, then cut away from the fret and attach the hand rails with CA glue. Some steps only need the rails bent up into postion as they are attached to the steps on the fret.
In between doing each ladder it is benificial to run around the room swearing like a trooper, just to release the pent up rage and frustration!

Hmmmm, nice idea Robert.........but I need to be able to focus at close range wihout squinting and closing one eye.......so I'll leave the dram 'till after putting it all away!

Could always go to Specsavers about that squinting problem...

Bee slowly grinding away with the bridge superstructure, the brass stairways and railings make it very slow frustration work! The same area painted. I tried to take a pic of the 4inch guns, but they are too small to fucus properly on. There are ten individual brass pieces glued on here, not including the guns! The seats are about 1mm by 2mm.

Eric, that's incredible. I got dizzy trying to follow all those stairs. They must have sent you insane. I'm in awe - that's going to be a great model when she's finished.

Looking good eric. I think the photo etch is well worth the effort.

So far I've put on about 200 brass parts, and there are probably about five or six hundred more to do .
I don't think I will put 'em all on......I want to retain some portion of my sanity....

Slow!
Just done the two funnels.....I had to cut out the moulded funnel vents and glue in brass repacements, that took a couple of days!
I'll try and get some pics up in the next few days.

Yes it is a bit pricey, and the photo etched set was just as expensive, but I couldn't resist it....and I'll be trying to sneak HMS Repulse into the fleet too, as long as SWIMBO doesn't notice....
