Ok Ladies, gentlemen, fellow penguins. With the impending end of the Bismarck Magazine run by the publisher and with some of us actually in possession of issue140 some questions have to be asked.
Obviously for a lot of us the build will be carrying on to the end of the year at least. So begs the question:
Will you carry on to a new forum build?
By this I mean how many would start a new part works build and remain with this forum (abiet under a new name etc) As for some of us who have been with Mark since beginning of this build have built up quite a friendship/rapport and helped each other outside of this forum and it would be a shame to let this fizzle out.

I would carry on, far too many friends on this forum. As to what it would be, only time will tell. Talking of the end of the Bismarck she sank today, (27th May) at 10.39am, 1941 with over 2000 souls still on board. Long may they rest in peace!

I'll will most likely (I really should say certainly) start a new build - after a break - when my Richelieu is finished, and of course I'll use this forum for a diary But isn't Mark already changing the format to suit a life after Bismarck

Hi Poulw
Yes Mark is carrying on the forum, my poll is to gauge how many of us will be carrying on with this forum (whatever incarnation it takes) once the Bismarck is finished.

Don't forget that some of us are only at week 111 and still have at least 6 months of grind, heartache, frazzled nerves and large optician's bills, let alone the psychiatric treatment (I'm ok on this as my daughter provides me with free counselling). And if we do get the Hood then it starts all over again .... aaagh

Yep,
Even if no new partwork comes out many of us are building our own projects its an ideal place to show off how works going.

Well i was here from the start and i will be staying if mark keeps the site open. some very good help from all on here and hopefully more builds to come.
I was thinking has anyone ever done a ship from scratch i.e scratch building. I have seen a site that does community builds but the sizes are done in US and i struggled to get wood in there sizes over here. So i propose a community build if someone is up to doing it, i would love to have a go at building something from scratch with us all working together and sorting problems out as we go along.

Jay Good thought Jay. I don't know how many people would be up for it, but I'd be happy to host it on the forum. The forum will certainly be contnued in one form or another. I'm still considering all the alternatives make sure the forum lives on and becomes self sustaining as partworks come and go.

Sign me up for it. I know it might be fairly hard, but what about the Cutty Sark. I've started a thread for ideas about the Community Build.
