Smug mode !! I've got the prototype for the main gun elevating working by remote control. It's a quick lash-up, but proves everything will work when I do a neat job. Here are a couple of videos, with the turret both clothed and naked. Full details on my web site www.buildthebismarck.co.uk/detail.htm#Turrets

Excellent stuff there Mark. I assume you have used a rod linkage of some sort

Ah cool. I was thinking a bit to technical and was worried about extra weight etc.

I think the servo is probably lighter than the wood I've left out !! Mind, a metal shaft and some bearings will soon add a few grams back on.

Excellent, Mark. A very neat solution and much easier to engineer than my notched inner tube !!

Great job Mark. Will you be using the Polish alu guns or Hachette's plastic ones for your finished turrets?

I'll be using some metal gun barrels. The Hachette ones have moulded blast bags which would stop the elevation.
I will also be making them rotate. I'm planning on using a standard servo and some 3:1 gearing.
