i have to many friends on this forum to send pm to all of you, so i opened this thread to let you all know what is happening. my wife and i were called to my oncologist a few Weeks ago. he called us into a private room where a psychiatrist was sitting, i was wondering what was going on. we sat down and he told us that my cancer had spread to far to do anything about it, they cant operate as the tumours are to advanced and that the roots of the tumours are to far embedded into my vital organs, its to late for chemo, so im getting radiotherapy shortly, its estimated that i have between 1 and 3 years left.no matter what medicine they give me im in pain all the time. all my meds contain heroin and cocaine. im on oxycontin, actiq, durogesic patches, lyrica, and all it does is ease the pain and make me drowsy, hence why im so far behind my bismarck. well thats the story my friends, and im sorry for being offline so long. by the way , thanks to those who sent me a lovely get well card last week, it meant a lot to me and my wife jc

Thinking of you and Ted Kennedy - cancer, and living through it all to the end. I know you value your friends, and that your friends value you. Be with those close to you.

We are all thinking about you JC.
Anything else I try and type just sounds trivial.

No need for you to apologise JC. We're the ones who are sorry to hear of your bad news. As tough as it is, I do hope you manage to grab hold of life and live it to the full. We're all here thinking of you and ready to listen, even if you just want to have a good old moan.
Take care Mark

Sorry to hear of your bad news JC, like the others, my thoughts are with you . As a carer to a disabled wife in constant pain from a stroke/diabetes problems, I can also appreciate what your wife is also going through, and I wish her great strength to help you through. Our position as carers is also very stressful, and sometimes very hard to see ones loved ones suffering.

thank you all my good friends, your thoughts and prayers meana lot to my wife and i , it gives us strenght as we know we are not alone, i have to praise my wife of all people , she's my carer now for nearly 7 years , through operations with me and all the after care, times when im bedridden and she's trying to mind the kids, look after me , carers all over the world are not looked after enough by our governments. in ireland it works out that if i was in a home it vwould cost the government nearly €5,000 a week, yet they pay my wife only €240 a week. governments are such cheapskates, and there on saleries of about €200,000 a year, so they dont give a damn. ah well what can we do, only praise our carers for all the selfish work they do and all the hours they put in , on top of their normal housework. thank you all my good friends. jc
