Rare? They are still available at Amazon.com, you just have to fork out about $1000USD for the privilege. I got mine off ebay. I think I only paid about $300 for it and had it sent from the US.
Mark I don't relish the thought of taking the beast apart, but I fear it may come to that if i can't find anywhere to put it. It really is so damn big and wide..thanks for the comments on the case.

Lol nice idea Mike B - but I actually no longer have anywhere to put the tv since I bought the new plasma.. so it has to go. Its for sale on ebay - no takers yet though..
If I don't get any buyers, its off to the dump - after I take it apart to see how it works first.. always wanted to do that...

Looking at the prices, it might be worth selling it shortly before Xmas I hadn't realised that they had got as rare as they are.

Just to resurrect this thread, I happened to mention to SWMBO that Modelzone have still got this reduced from £70 to £30. I nearly fell over when she said, well, why don't you buy it then ? What should I do....................... PS. She has absolutely no idea how big it is, and she'd forgotten about the Lancaster I'm building

Damn they don't include Australia in the countries to send to. I'll just get it out here as it will come out cheaper, (specially once you addon UK to Aus postage).

I now have a very big box in my study Boy, is it a BIG model. I have no idea where it's going to live, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Probably won't be for a while. Curse Hachette for bringing out the Tiger

LOL !
Has anybody used the Eduard etched decks or hinged plates ? Just wondering if they are worth buying ? Looking at the hinge plates, they seem to add a lot of detail that is missing from the basic kit, but seem to just lay on top of the existing parts. Not sure about the decks as the Revell decks are very good, but it's cheaper to buy the Big Ed set of the details, deck plates and hinge plates than it is just the hinge plates and details.
