Guys, don't forget that the post office are doing a series of strikes at the moment. I don't subscribe to this mag, I get it from my local newsagent. But I collect the lord of the rings chess set and I am waiting for my next delivery. My local Post Office says that parcel deliverys can be up to one week delayed. I don't know if it's the same everywhere in the UK. Why can't the magazine companies use other methods of delivery?

I've also had lots of problems with Hachette not being able to understand plain English or take action to put something right.
I've spoken to customer services (which, by the way is in South Africa) about 10 times now to try and get them to send issues 7 - 11.
My first delivery came around 8 weeks after I had subscribed and consisted of issues 1 & 2. I then had nothing for about another 7 weeks then received 3 - 6.
A few weeks later I rang to see where the next lot were and to ask why they we being sent at 2 or 3 at a time because I was likely to be several hundred years old by the time I got the last issue at that rate!
I was told that issues 12 - 15 had been dispatched a few days earlier. I pointed out that I hadn't had 7 - 11 and was told that they were having difficulty getting the stock so had sent 12- 15 instead! Since then I have also received 17 - 20 but still no 7-11 so am a bit stuck.
After several difficult phonecalls speaking to people who seemed only to have a basic grasp of English, I was told by different people that:
A) I wasn't behind anyone else because it depends when you subscribe as to when you receive your issues. They claimed the series started in the UK in September 2007!
B) The missing issues had already be sent on 21st June
C) The missing issues had not been sent two days ago.
D) The missing issues had been put on order and would be sent within two weeks.
E) On two occasions someone offered to ring the warehouse and get a definitive answer and ring me back - neither did!
On the final occasion I rang I was told the missing issues had not been sent and they did not know why. I said I wanted these to be dispatched immediately and sent free of charge or I would cancel the subscription.
I spoke to a manger who said he could authorise 2 of the 5 issues to be sent free of charge. I politely explained that was unsatisfactory and unless all 5 issues were sent free of charge I would cancel the subscription and would put full details of the problems on every formum and model site I could find on the internet.
I then spoke to the manager's manager who agreed to send all 5 issues by registered post free of all charges. They are expected within the next two days so I will see what happens.
I did ask that they make a note on their system that any further problems would result in cancellation and postings across the web on the terrible level of customer service they operated.
I also said that I'd made a note of all times, dates, names and what had been said on each occasion I had contacted them in case I needed to take the matter up with Hachette Head Office.
A bit extreme but it seemed to work. One last tip - if anyone speaks Afrikaans or Dutch try using that with Customer Services as they seem to understand that much better than English!

Sorry to hear of your probs davelancs. I am lucky enough not to have had such problems, well at least up to now (Issue 19). Hope they get matters sorted out for you A.S.P. By the way, welcome to the forum, no such worries about prompt replies/answers on here!

My Issues have arrived on time each month, though this last month they were a bit late. My only concern is that we do seem to be a lot behind those getting theirs via a news agent.

Know what you mean Bob, but as I'm not too clever at making wooden models, I am somewhat thanking to be able to crib from others - I'm not proud, he, he, he.
