hey matty, you get karma for saying something nice to folks or when the posted some good tips or sites. Look in the column on the left of who has posted remarks and at the bottom there is highlighted exalt or smite, exalt gives karma points and smite...well i'm not sure, but i think takes points away. Which is why when cliff started the myanmar thread we were all quick to respond with signatures and exalt the cause. Or funny pictures of Mr Potatohead surfing on the Bismarck! hope this helps

In a nutshell, if somebody clicks exalt on your post you get a karma point. Somebody clicks smite and one gets taken away. Its entirely up to you when you want to exalt or smite somebody.

I'm not British, but can someone British explain why the UK Central Bank is called the Bank of England? Anyone from Scotland tell me?

We have the Bank of Scotland....The ROYAL Bank Of Scotland....and the Clydesdale Bank, they all issue notes to their own designs. It really is bizzare, I happily accept Scottish, English and Ulster bank notes at my B&B! Why it was never harmonised nationally is beyond me!!!
