It is my sad duty to annouce a minor disaster on my boat, one of my now ex-beloved cats, got into the area where i keep my boat and knocked it to the full quite severly damagedthe port side of my boat. IE snapping some of the hull wall planks near the top inwards and I think one of the frames is damaged too...I not a happy bunny. Anyone know a very nice man from a salvage company. Gutted.

Poor you.
Sad new meaning for S.I.N.K.
And not the first Bismarck to be damaged.
But know that you will find a solution: strengthen on the inside, file fibreglass on the outside or whatever - I'm sure there's a list of reasonable possibilities. Your work will not be wasted, just set back. All the best.

Ouch....that had to hurt, and I'll bet the cat has had the error of his ways explained to him!
Be gratefull we are working with wood, any such damage CAN be fixed, just try to put any frustration and anger behind you (throwing things at the cat might help there) and you'll do it. By the time we come to paint the hulls, you'll never know anything had happened to it.

Sorry to hear of your disaster, but as Eric rightly points out, with wood, almost anything can be brought back to new. Probably end up with a stronger hull as the result!!!

I know the feeling, as a similiar demise befell (pun intended) my RNLI lifeboat, but as it was plastic, it now collects dust in the loft. And the same cat, is curled up on my rack this moment as we spaek, king of the house! Robert
