Hi,
Will be coming round to attaching the bow and stern resin pieces soon and I am just wondering how you clamped/held them while they glued? Specifically the Stern resin part 70 and the bow part.

I used a 2 part epoxy resin glue and it dried very quickly after it was mixed so i just held the peices in place for about 15 - 20 seconds.

I will use masking tape. I'll use slow setting Araldite, so there is plenty of time to get the parts in the right position and make sure the tape holds them correctly.

I inverted the hull and used gravity on the stern........but for the bow I used 'lacky bands stretched back to the break on the fiexed deck.
I also used the slow epoxy, that allowed me the time to tinker with it and get it dead straight. Make sure with the bow part that it is tucked firmly under the wooden part on top of it (I glued it on the day before). Run you eye along the deck line to make sure the bows follow the curve up, otherwise it could end up with a droop Concorde bow.

I did the same as Mark, with the slow setting epoxy, except I used sellotape and not masking tape, same difference!! (also made sure that nothing was disturbed for 24 hours, even when the glue appeared to be set - just to be safe.)

The problem I have with my bow (in the absence of yet to be published photos) is where you have the 'bulge' for the anchors on the resin piece when i stuck the the strip with the portholes on I got a bit over excited with the filler and it does not stick out as much as Erics. When I post the piccies you will see what I mean. But overall the hull looks good in profile and i think with some more careful sanding I could rectify my problem. Just more annoyed with myself than anything. BUt the sanding/filling/sanding is going quite well. Got a sore arm though!
