Thanks for the pics Eric. What a beautiful ship she also was. Just a real shame that other than HMS Belfast, we as a seafaring nation could not keep one of our Battleships as a floating musem, such as HMS Vanguard or HMS Duke of York.

Could'nt agree more, always thought they should have kept Warspite, the most famous through two wars, and Vanguard, the last to be built.

hey eric, great pictures mate, thought you was away in the sun, did you happen to see the other ship which is a cross-section, hang on book is in the kitchen.....the Viribus Unitis, an Austrian battleship, done as a cross-section model. i have a book that has some photos of her and the detail is amazing. robert

Hi Robert, Vibrus Unitis......no, not there. The display only had Clyde built ships there, ranging from 17th centuary sailing ships, through the steam paddleships, first and second world war warships and right up to the latest destroyers and frigates. The wife had to drag me out, I think I left some nail marks on the walls!!

really nice photo eric . would there ever be any chance of hatchet ever doing a model of hms hood after the bismarck has finished? regards daveg

To me, it would make perfect sense for them to make one, I bet most (if not all) who are making Bismarck would consider Hood to be the perfect model to accompany it.
