No such probs for me, I was silly enough to propose myself. Mind you, after 32 years of marriage, the only regret I have, is the wedding day!!! ;D ;D

Think yourself lucky Naploeon, I have clocked up nearly 45 years!!! Cannot even time off for good behaviour - if I had done the Great Train robbery I would have been out 20 years ago and megarich!!! Stiil cannot complain, in my marriage vows: for richer or for poorer guess what? for better or for worser, guess what? and in sickness or in health, again guess what? at least one right would have been helpful!!!!! ;D ;D ;D (luckily er indoors does not get to read my posts!!!)

Why dont you book her a full day out at a beauty salon, book a dinner for two at a special restaurant (if monies are tight, then Macdonalds will do!!), tell her she needs to dress up and get ready for the evening, then you can have a full day working on your Bismarck with a clear conscience!! (but let her think later that you have been all day setting up the evening meal!). p.s. include a bunch of roses and a present for the dinner table, then she might not notice the superglue on your fingers!).
