My apologies if this has already been covered but I couldn't find it. Anyway, this is something that's been bugging me for quite a while. If you look at the picture below (you'll need to look to the right-hand side due to the lousy focus), you'll see that my decking overhangs the side of the hull by between 1 and 2mm in places. Is something going to be fitted at a later date that will fill this overhang or do I need to sand the edges until they're flush?

Hi Nem, Mine looks exactly like yours just now, but I am going to follow what Don has done, and build up the hull level and sand down the decks until they sit insde the raised hull.
I think, if you are following the hachette version you will be sanding the deck flush with the hull.

Thanks guys. It's good to know I haven't dropped a major clanger. Isn't an altercation with a senior officer a court martial offence? ;D

I think that the deck overhang was deliberate so that it can be sanded back exactly. If it had been a precise fit to start with then chances are that slight discepancies in the build would cause problems!!!

the correct width of the deck is 18,2cm. if your deck is wider there's no problem making it flush
