Hello. I received the new resin stern in issue 35 but it sticks out about 3mm at the top. Should I sand the stern piece or try to sand the last rib so the stern lines up with the overhanging top piece? P.S. If somebody can tell me how to post a photo then I can better explain it. Thanks

Ok 1st you'll need an account with either photobucket or imageshack photobucket.com/ or imageshack.us/ Both free and then upload your photos to your account as an 800 pixel by 600 pixel jpg image. Photobucket: Copy the IMG Code, (left click on it) and paste into the msg box here. Imageshack: Copy the Direct link code to here and place bewteen [ img ] and [ /img ] tags minus the spaces. Hope this helps for the photos.

Most people have bent a peice of wood round the stern which sits on the lip that sticks out. p.s. The Hull section is probaly a better place for this.

I found my resin piece did the same, but it wasn't actually square either. I sanded a bit off the front top to make the angle square and it the fitted fine. Here is a sketch of what I mean. The green part has been sanded off.

Think mine is mainly ok, possible very slightly off being straight, but only very slightly. After looking at it, it seems to have a curve width ways across it.

Photobucket actaully makes it really easy for you. Look at the photos in your album. You should see four lines of text underneath each thumbnail which looks like gibberish. (I'm at an advantage here - I speak fluent gibberish ) The forth line should say IMG code. Click in the box of text just to the right of this, and a little yellow box appears briefly, saying copied. Now go back to the forum and click in the mesage reply box (I.e. The one I'm typing in at the moment.) Now click Edit (in Explorers menu bar) and then paste. A line of gibberish appears in the text box and will automatically be converted into a picture when you hit reply.

Do you have the peice of stern sheeting and decking in the right place? Just a thought.

Looks very similar to mine.
Some of us who had their resin parts like yours put on a plank, bent round the stern, sitting on top of the resin part.
This became incorporated into a full lenght srip that brought the hull up above the height of the deck.
Have a good look at 'Swanrail's hints and tips' on this; section "New part 70" . His is identical.
