Hi everyone this is my first post( of hopefully many to come) I live in New Zealand and we are onto issue 3. I am following a South African Model shops way of keeping the keel plates even and straight and flat by screwing them to a piece of wood. Just thought id put this and see if anyone else has done so.

Yep; screwed to a 48” by 18” premium wood shelf. Didn’t unscrew until the bottom few planks had to go on. I did not use planking on the bottom, where it is totally flat, but cut a piece of plywood. Didn’t move a bit.

I'm dunno about my sanity, but i was fortunate to (so far) get away without fixing my hull to anything. Could be the result of the long rest gap (translation: got stuck, bored and gave up for a bit!) I took during my planking.

Markus,
I thought baked beans were a British phenomenon; we eat 90% of the baked beans produced. You’re not telling me Germans have a taste for them as well; or is it you like the weighty tins for models.

You should make everyone who orders their RC kit off you to send you some HP sauce by return post.
